For your first post on your new blog, you are going to create a post that discusses your favorite or least favorite Super Bowl ad from the game this past Sunday. If you did not watch the game or if you do not remember the ads, you can refresh your memory by watching the ads at this link: Super Bowl Commercials.
Once you have thought about a few of the ads, you are to create a new blog post that explains which commercial you like or dislike the best as well as explain your reasoning for your decision. Your explanation needs to be better than saying "I liked it just because I did," or something of that similar nature.
This exercise is more about experiencing blogging than the content of what you are writing. However, you are still required to use proper mechanics in your writing. This is still a part of your grade. I am not looking for an in-depth essay explaining your decision, but I am looking for a well-thought out explanation with adequate support.
Here is an example of the blog post I would write if I were completing this assignment:
Out of all the commercials I saw during the Super Bowl this year, I thought Doritos did the best job with their advertisement. Specifically, I liked the commercial that depicted the business worker licking the cheese powder off his co-worker's hands as well as the other man's pants. While I found this highly disturbing, the commercial had the highest shock value for me. I did not expect it at all. I was cringing and squirming for the entire 30 seconds. It was something out of the ordinary, and it made me laugh extremely hard.
To create your own blog, go to your blogger home page, click on the "Posting" tab, and then select "New Post." After you finish writing your post, select "Publish Post" at the bottom of your page.
